Dr Sara Cuevas Ocaña
Researcher
Dr. Ocaña is a research associate with expertise in stem cell biology and in-depth knowledge of genome editing technologies. She completed her biology training in Spain, obtained her PhD from Newcastle University and gained five years of postdoctoral experience on making in vitro models of lung diseases at University of Nottingham.
Sara will be working on making models of Birth-Hogg-Dube Syndrome and familiar interstitial lung disease with Stefan Marciniak and Jennifer Dickens at University of Cambridge.
In her free-time Sara serves the biggest respiratory society in the world, European Respiratory Society (ERS), as the Chair of the Early Career Member Committee and young representative for the basic and translational sciences’ Assembly.
