Dr Jonathan Ong
Researcher & Clinician

Jonathan Ong is a clinical research fellow at the Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) centre in Southampton, UK. He completed his medical studies at the University of Cambridge and is in the sub-specialty training programme for paediatric respiratory medicine in Oxford and Southampton. He is taking time out of training to undertake a PhD at the University of Southampton with the PCD research team, which is led by Prof Jane Lucas. The aim of his PhD is to develop novel in vitro cellular models of PCD which could be used to understand disease mechanisms or test potential therapies. Outside of work he enjoys spending time in nature and trying new foods.
