Gill Hollis
Patient Group Representative
Gill Hollis has a background in law and investment, but in 1992, aged 27, she was diagnosed with the rare lung condition LAM. At that time, little was known about LAM, no treatments were available and her prognosis was bleak. After undergoing a lung transplant in 2004, she developed a parallel career supporting and representing the interests of both LAM and lung transplant patients. A trustee and former chair of the charity LAM Action, her experience includes work with SaBTO and ELF, collaborating on funding bids, trials, papers and patient information.
Gill is aware she owes her own life to medical advances. Consequently she is an enthusiastic supporter of the Centre’s aims and is part of the team ensuring that the patient voice is at the heart of all the Centre’s activities.
She loves being able to live an active life again and her favourite possession is her e-bike.
