Rasmus joins the Mill lab as a Postdoctoral Research Associate as part of the LifeArc Centre for Rare Respiratory Diseases, bringing his passion for genome editing to better model and possibly cure rare respiratory diseases, such as primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). He completed his PhD at Aarhus University in Denmark, where he used gene-edited zebrafish to investigate metabolism, muscle function, and respirometry. A self-proclaimed gene editing enthusiast, Rasmus is excited to apply these approaches in mammalian systems to develop new therapeutic strategies targeting rare respiratory disorders at their root cause.
