Dr Eriomina Shahaj is a postdoctoral researcher at UCL’s Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. Her current work focuses on developing mRNA-based gene therapies for Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), targeting CCDC39 to restore ciliary motility in patient-derived epithelial cells. With a strong background in immunology, extracellular vesicles, and translational medicine, she has contributed to research on myocarditis, cancer immunotherapy, and immune biomarkers. Eriomina is committed to science communication, patient engagement, and sustainability in research. She is the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2025 Gordon Conference Best Flash Talk and the Maria Bitner-Glindzicz Early Career Researcher Award.
