Researcher
Dr Rubbo is a lecturer at the University of Southampton (UoS) with the Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) research team, which is led by Prof Jane Lucas. She completed her PhD in clinical epidemiology at UoS, where she conducted several projects investigating different aspects of delivery of care for patients with PCD. One of her PhD projects applied a novel data-driven approach (topological data analysis) to reveal genotype-phenotype associations in 400 people with PCD from the UK, France, and the Netherlands.
Following completion of her PhD, she gained 3 years of postdoctoral experience in different field of epidemiology (workforce research, environmental epidemiology, suicide prevention) in the UK (UoS, University of Bristol) and in the USA (University of Southern California). Her current work focuses on large international cohort studies in PCD and the use of routinely collected clinical data for secondary data analyses.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling, exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and outdoor activities.
